Chinnar Wild Life Sanctuary

EravikulamNational Park

EravikulamNational Park at Anamudi hills is the famous eco-tourism spot. A former hunting preserve of the British planters, the Park today exemplifies wildlife at its best. It was declared a Sanctuary in 1975 with the intention of protecting the indigenous population of NilgiriTahr (highly endangered mountain goat).Many NilgiriThars thrive in this area. Apart from a wide range of valleys, it is home to variety of birds and wild animals. This is also the land of “Neelakurinji”, the flower that blooms once in twelve years.Tourists come in drove to visit these intriguing tourist spots.Trekking and other activities at park are limited to the tourism zone that is approachable by vehicle and is a high altitude rocky precipice.  Pampadum Shola National Park

The clear blue sky, clean air, stretch of green meadows and thick foliage teeming with flora and fauna makes it a dream destination for tourists. The fauna includes several   threatened, rare or endemic species. The numbers of rare and endemic species found were high when the extent of Shola forest is taken into consideration. The species Nilgiri Blue Tiger (butterfly) which is restricted to some hills of South India and listed as threatened by IUCN was

recorded to be highly abundant in the area.

Mathikettan Shola National Park

The name Mathikettan derives from the Tamil word literally meaning 'mind confuser', as the local people say that one forgets the path once he enters into the park. It notified as a national park to protect the wildlife and rich biodiversity of the area. The Shola forest in the area is bestowed with unit with geological fauna and flora and geomorphological wealth.Mathikettan Shola National Park is a beautiful place, located in the Idukki district of the state of Kerala. The park is located between other reserve forests like Eravikulam National Park and Pampadam Shola National Park.It was declared as a National Park in the year of 2003. Total area of the park is about 12.82 Km². The park was part of the Cardamom Hill Reserve region till it was notified as a national park.The park is a biodiversity hotspot and plays a vital role in safeguarding wildlife in the region. Watching birds and wildlife in their natural habitat is a popular attraction among trekkers in the national park.

Anamudi Shola National Park 

Anamudi Shola National Park is a beautiful place, located along the Western Ghats in the Idukki district of the state of Kerala.Anamudi Shola National Park is a part of Annamalai sub-cluster and has been nominated for World Heritage site status under UNESCO’s World heritage Programme. It was declared as a National Park in the year of 2003. The national park is a home for large number of faunal and floral species. The park consists of some of the rarest types of plants and species which are not found anywhere else.The park provides safe and comfortable habitat to these wild species of flora and fauna.
